Verify a download

1. Check the digital signature

In Windows, right-click the file, choose Properties, then Digital Signatures. The signer should be:

William Newbauer

Select the signature and choose Details. Windows should reportThis digital signature is OK, and the signature should include a timestamp.

From PowerShell:

Get-AuthenticodeSignature .\downloaded-file.exe | Format-List Status, SignerCertificate, TimeStamperCertificate

Status should be Valid.

2. Compare the checksum

Each release lists a SHA-256 checksum. Compute yours and compare:

Get-FileHash .\downloaded-file.exe -Algorithm SHA256

If something does not match

Do not run the file. Delete it and download it again from this site.
