# RedBot 1.9.2 Release Notes

## Updates verify offline

RedBot's update check builds the installer's certificate chain from the certificates
embedded in the signature, the same way the Newbster Code release verifier does. 1.9.1
built the chain from the signing certificate alone, so on a PC that could not download
the intermediate certificate (offline, or blocked by a proxy) it rejected genuine,
correctly signed updates. Found by the offline Windows Sandbox test before release.
